Sometimes, when I have a quiet minute between meetings, I go back down to that cold lower-level room where everything began. I rest my fingertips on the steel table and remember that day in detail.

Trusting my instincts did more than save one woman’s life. It gave other people the courage to speak up when something was wrong, even if doing so meant risking their standing with management.
