Megan turned and gasped. “Dad? Mom? What are you doing here? Dad, you should be resting!”

Her father was leaning on a cane, but he looked better than he had in months.

“I’m fine, honey. Martha called us. She sent a car. She said it was important.” He smiled at David. “So, are we setting a new date? Or are you two going to run laps around the parking lot first?”
