Megan and David looked at each other and laughed, the tension finally breaking.
“We don't know the date yet,” David said, squeezing her hand. “But this time, no big production. No hundreds of guests. Just us, the family, and maybe a flight to the beach. How does that sound?”
The future, which had seemed so bleak just an hour ago, was suddenly bright. The lies were exposed, the toxic influences removed. They had learned a hard lesson: silence and pride can ruin a life, but the truth—no matter how messy—is the only thing that can save it.
